Reflections from Reading by Donna Gracia Bella — book insights and soulful interpretations.

Insights that stayed — what books whispered long after I closed them.

TO SHARE ETERNITY

Parvati loved everything about Her Lord. Especially, His prowess in poetry.
One day, She implored, “No, say something really nice.”
It was then that Shiva said the most enigmatic thing.
“Love, there is no such thing as the end of life, but, without you, there is no life.”
“That is lovely, but what exactly does it mean, though?”
“It means…” said Shiva, turning completely towards Her and locking His eyes in Hers,
“that there is a part of us which is eternal, but that part is of no use if there is not another to share the eternity with.”
Parvati hugged Him again, in a ‘never to let go’ embrace.

My Quiet Thought

Some loves do not begin and end; they are the thread from which time itself is woven. What I understood from this passage is not romance but remembrance. Most people spend their lives searching for love that fills the senses — when the real one was meant to awaken the soul. The eternal cannot be possessed. It can only be recognized — when two spirits remember that they have always known each other, not through words or touch, but through light. We were not meant to find someone to complete us. We were meant to remember the one who made us whole before we forgot.

To love in the way the soul loves is to stand in truth — not in wanting, not in taking, but in knowing that what you meet outside is only the reflection of what has already awakened within. This kind of love does not cling or demand; it frees. It sees the divine in the other and bows to it. It is the only love that survives the body, the only one that follows us into silence. For the soul does not fall in love — it remembers where it came from.
